Biography

Martin Schweiger founded Schweiger & Partner in 1996.

Among the many IP and non-IP related areas that Martin Schweiger covers in his professional practise, trademark and Internet domain matters have been his favorite: Martin Schweiger has extensive litigation experience in brand name and trademark law. His special emphasis is on trademark litigation before German and French courts, cancellation proceedings and opposition proceedings before the European Office for Harmonization of the Internal Market OHIM (European Trademark and Design Office) and also before IPOS (Intellectual Property Office of Singapore).

Martin Schweiger is also experienced in all aspects of patent practice, including the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications, patent appeals and the preparation of patent, copyright and trademark licenses. He has been involved in the technical areas of mechanical technologies, mechatronics, robotics, computer peripherals and software. He is a noted German attorney in prosecuting software related patent applications.

He is a German native speaker and is fluent in English, French and Portuguese. He has a basic knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin), Spanisch, and Italian.

He has extensive experience in varied other IP related fields, such as in financial and tax treatment of licenses and aso in company start-up issues.

He is author of several papers regarding German tax matters of IP-licenses.

  • Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS)
